Emma Koivisto, a winger, has officially signed with AC Milan. The newest member of the squad is from Finland, making her the second after Nora Heroum to play for the national team.

As officially announced by the club, Koivisto’s contract with Milan runs until June 2027 and she will wear the number two shirt.

Koivisto was born in Helsinki in 1994 and began her professional career at FC Honka before moving to Göteborg in Sweden where she played for three seasons. After that spell, Koivisto moved to England. She first signed for Brighton & Hove Albion before moving to Liverpool in 2022.

The Finn also played college football at Florida State University in the USA and is a seasoned international with the Finnish national team. The talented winger has scored a total of 13 goals and registered eight assists since 2018. She will undoubtedly be a strong reinforcement for Milan’s attack.

The signing of Koivisto comes amid a summer of departures for Milan. Captain Valentina Bergamaschi has left for rivals Juventus, whilst the likes of Kamila Dubcova and Alia Guagni are expected to leave as well.

Milan should soon be appointing a new coach to replace Davide Corti with improvement needed next season for the Rossonere after finishing in the bottom half in 2023/24.
