Two-time world 200m champion Shericka Jackson will double at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after winning the 100m and 200m at the Jamaican Olympic trials at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.
Jackson started her Olympic journey winning the 100m at the trials, clocking a season best time of 22.29 seconds (1.6m/s).
She pushed all the way to the finish line, holding off Lanae-Tava Thomas who finished second in a new personal best 22.34. Niesha Burgher also ran a lifetime best of 22.39 seconds to complete the podium at the event.
She had an unbeaten run from the preliminaries through to the final of the race. She won the preliminaries in 22.67 before coming back for the win in the final of the event.
Over the weekend, Jackson also claimed the 100m title, winning the race in 10.84 ahead of Tia Clayton and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who finished second and third respectively.
