It’s soon approaching, and the Cardinals will have to make some painful decisions. The Cardinals’ recent performance has made matters easier, however. It was uncertain what the franchise would do since some speculated that St. Louis would sell.
The Cardinals have turned things around sufficiently that it appears they will be buyers. The future of first baseman Paul Goldschmidt was uncertain early this season, but that does not appear to be the case any longer, and The Athletic’s Katie Woo predicts that he will not be traded this summer.
