The video, posted in June by the Australian Open account, shows Agassi recounting the moment he met Graf. “I remember saying to myself, ‘One day I’m gonna marry her,'” he stated, leaving the panel moderator stunned. “Really?” questioned the moderator. “I’m kidding, I was 18 years old,” Agassi remarked, eliciting laughter. Then he got serious, telling Graf how much he appreciated his tennis skills and demeanour.
“She always played with such grace. “I envied everyone who had something I didn’t have,” he admitted. “Her clarity and her professionalism and her methodical… you know, I was just an emotional wreck when I was a teenager.”
