Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese seems to be enjoying her Olympic break so far. After helping Team WNBA pull off a 117-109 win over Team USA in the 2024 WNBA All-Star game, Reese made her way to Europe to begin her vacation.
On Tuesday, Reese showed up in London for Team USA’s exhibition game against Germany as part of the USA Basketball Showcase, where the USA won by a final score of 84-57.
On Wednesday, she arrived in Paris just before the 2024 Paris Olympics. She made a trip to Disney Land Paris and went on to explore the city.
During her trip, Reese made an Instagram post highlighting her vacation experience.
WNBA and Los Angeles Sparks legend Lisa Leslie commented on Reese’s post, giving her a brand-new nickname.
“Outside Barbie,” Leslie replied with a double heart emoji.
The new nickname stems from Reese’s original nickname she received back in college with the LSU Tigers, “Bayou Barbie.”
The nickname carried over into the WNBA after Reese was selected as the No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft by the Sky, with fans calling her “Chi Barbie.”
Leslie played college ball for the USC Trojans from 1990 to 1994. In her 12-year WNBA career with the Sparks, Leslie won two championships and three MVP awards. Leslie was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2015.
