Angel Reese had a solid WNBA All-Star debut on Saturday evening in Team WNBA’s 117-109 upset win over Team USA.
In 18 minutes of action off the bench, Reese made her presence known. The former LSU Tigers star recorded 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting, 11 rebounds, a steal, and a block.
Not only did Reese stuff the stat sheet, but she also became the first rookie in WNBA history to record a double-double in an All-Star game.
After the game, Reese was walking through the arena tunnel with a game ball, celebrating. Reese’s friend was recording her singing and dancing, but then she accidentally bumped into another person behind another camera, causing a few items to fall.
“Oh my gosh. Sorry, sir. Sorry, sir,” Reese apologized as she walked away with her friend, waving.
Reese and the Sky have entered the Olympic break in playoff contention. They currently sit at 10–14, good for the eighth seed. Eight of the 12 WNBA teams with the best record make the playoffs, regardless of conference.
