The first significant domino of the 2025 college basketball recruiting class has fallen, with Darius Acuff Jr. committing to Arkansas on Friday.
Acuff, a five-star point guard from IMG Academy, chose Arkansas over Kansas and Michigan in a final three. Alabama, Houston, Kentucky, and UConn are among the other top colleges that have offered him a spot.
Acuff is head coach John Calipari’s first major high school recruit at Arkansas who had not already committed to him at Kentucky, unlike the five-star freshmen trio of Boogie Fland, Karter Knox, and Billy Richmond III on this year’s squad.
Acuff is also the first player ranked in the 247Sports Composite top 20 to declare his college.
