CM: Milan send clear response to Roma over Okafor amid exchange deal rumoursIt is alleged that Noah Okafor has been informed by AC Milan that he will not be involved in any talks with Roma regarding Tammy Abraham, and that the club has no plans to sell him. In his preseason debut, Okafor looked quite active coming off the bench in last night’s friendly against Barcelona, but there remained uncertainty about his future and a possible trade with Roma. According to a number of reports, including Corriere dello Sport, the Giallorossi are considering a possibly advantageous deal with Milan that would require Tammy Abraham leaving. One such deal may involve Okafor.
Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com asserts, however, that Okafor is not available for purchase. Roma genuinely likes him, but Milan wants to keep him, therefore they “are not open to including him” in the potential Abraham deal. The Swiss attacker became a major impact player for the team in his first season after signing from Red Bull Salzburg, scoring six goals in the league to help the team to five wins and a tie. According to yesterday’s La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fonseca would “like to make him his Rossonero Jonathan David” and views him as an intriguing addition for the attacking unit.
