Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta provided updates on the future of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and striker Eddie Nketiah after watching his team win 4-1 against Bayer Leverkusen at the Emirates Stadium.
The new season is fast approaching Arsenal but Mikel Arteta is still expected to do business before the big kick off against Wolverhampton Wanderers a week on Saturday
The Gunners were sharp out of the gates against the Bundesliga champions with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Leandro Trossard both scoring inside ten minutes. Gabriel Jesus bagged a third before half-time as Arsenal ran riot.
Kai Havertz made it four on 65 minutes before Adam Hlozek added a consolation ten minutes later. It was all in all a pleasing night for Arteta who look in good shape ahead of the big kick off against Wolverhampton Wanderers a week on Saturday
Despite this, transfer business is still expected to be done before the summer window closes at the end of the month. Both Nketiah and Ramsdale are expected to leave the club.
Marseille had looked to be on the verge of bringing Nketiah to their club this summer but were eager to walk away from the deal after learning Arsenal’s valuation. It is believed the Gunners may have lowered their asking price to £30m to entice Marseille back in but Arteta was keen to stress that the young forward still remains a part of plans for the time being.
