Milan have now secured a deal for France international Youssouf Fofana, who is expected to arrive in Italy to complete his medical tests before the Serie A season kicks off this weekend.
Reports on Thursday afternoon confirm that Milan have agreed to pay a total package of €25m, understood to be made up of €23m and an additional €2m in bonuses.
The 25-year-old could potentially land in Milan by Friday, but he is definitely expected to be with his new club by Saturday at the latest.
The Rossoneri expect him to undergo a medical shortly after his arrival, which Sky claim will be on Friday. The club could then make an official announcement by Saturday.
The Rossoneri will then begin their 2024-25 Serie A campaign against Torino at home in San Siro on Saturday evening, kicking off at 19.45 BST.
Fofana is set to become the fourth first-team signing of the Paulo Fonseca ear, following the arrivals of Alvaro Morata, Strahinja Pavlovic and Emerson Royal.
