Juventus are taking a hard line with Federico Chiesa, excluding him from training with the regular team, amid reports Milan and Roma could show interest.
The Italy international was one of their biggest players after making the transfer from Fiorentina for a total fee of €60m, but with his contract set to expire at the end of this season and no intention of extending, he is an outcast.
Coach Thiago Motta declared “the decision has been made” on Chiesa no longer being part of their project for 2024-25 and Juve pundit Giovanni Albanese claims that this now means forcing him to train separately from the rest of the squad.
It was an expected move, but still a shocking one considering how crucial he was to their team only a few months ago.
Milan and Roma look at Chiesa bargain
Meanwhile, Roma might not be the only club interested in keeping Chiesa in Serie A, because Sky Sport Italia claim that Milan could also make a proposal if the situation remains open at the end of the transfer window.
The minimum fee that Juventus can sell him for without making a net loss is €15m, a tiny fee for a player who turns 27 in October and has 51 senior Italy caps.
