Just In: Liverpool legend Jurgen Klopp named ‘most important’ now up for… see more

Liverpool legend Divock Origi faces an uncertain future as AC Milan have indicated he’s up for grabs on a free transfer.

The Belgian striker was signed by the Reds during Brendan Rodgers’ reign in 2014, only to be loaned back to Lille for another season. But after returning to the club, he became a cult hero under Jurgen Klopp.

Despite largely being used as a substitute by the German manager, Origi played a pivotal role at Anfield, most notably with his brace in the famous 4-0 Champions League semi-final comeback win over Barcelona at Anfield and his strike that made it 2-0 and clinched the trophy in the 2019 final victory against Tottenham.

The 29-year-old forward, who would go on to win the Premier League, Club World Cup, FA Cup and League Cup with the Reds and bag a staggering six goals against Merseyside rivals Everton, was described by Klopp when he left Anfield as “forever a Liverpool legend” and “one of the most important players I ever had”.

However, following his move to the San Siro in the summer of 2022 he struggled to make any impact in Italy. After a less than stellar period culminating in a temporary switch to Nottingham Forest, Milan are ready to part ways without a fee, reports the Express, with moves to either Saudi Arabia or the United States touted.
