Morata cannot be a leader – journalist reveal

Alvaro Morata cannot be a leader for his AC Milan team on the field tonight, but he gave a clear sign that he wants to be one even when he cannot contribute with goals.

It was a late show for Milan against Torino as substitutes Morata and Noah Okafor each scored in the closing stages. The changes really made an impact, especially given the likes of Theo Hernandez and Tijjani Reijnders were also missing from the starting XI.

The bad news though is that Morata battled through muscle discomfort in order to play in the opener, and while he scored to spark the comeback he caused further damage to the issue which will now keep him out until after the international break.

Nonetheless, he will not be staying back at the training complex to recover and instead he gave a sign that he wishes to be close to his team-mates ahead of the Parma game this evening.

Peppe Di Stefano spoke outside Milanello to give an update just before the team left for the 80-mile trip to Parma, and he revealed something about Morata with his comments relayed by Radio Rossonera.

“Milan will soon leave for Parma. We will tell you some news. First of all on the pitch, therefore in the formation, but also off the pitch,” he began.

“Obviously I can confirm that Morata is not among the players called up for tomorrow, but the player has asked to take part in the trip with the team. Unless there are any surprises, he should be in the group of those who will soon arrive at the central station to be alongside his new team.”
