The last version of Stefano Pioli’s Milan, fragmented between the lines and with a disastrous defensive phase, led the Rossoneri management to change the technical leadership after five long seasons.
The excellent results achieved in Lille prompted the club to focus on Paulo Fonseca, but the impression is that in the end, the decision was made to change without really changing, as Tuttosport also wrote this morning.
Compared to last season, the Rossoneri seems to have worsened further, and the match in Parma was, in a way, an unpleasant confirmation of this.
“For now, the dominant team announced by Ibrahimovic and Fonseca is far from being a concrete reality. But the philosophy of play that the Portuguese coach intends to bring to his Milan is not that far from what Pioli had in mind and showed”, writes the Italian newspaper, siding with the Milan fans by saying that, in hindsight, they were not wrong to demand an ‘earthquake’ on the bench.
