The Europa League draw has paired Roma with Tottenham, Eintracht Frankfurt and Athletic Club, while Lazio face FC Porto, Ajax and Real Sociedad.
Much like the new format of the Champions League for 2024-25, the Europa League has also adapted to remove the group stage and introduce a new League Phase instead.
This means each team plays eight different opponents – four at home, four away – and the results are tallied into a single table of 36 teams.
The top eight go directly into the next stage, whereas the mid-table clubs will enter a play-off.
Roma and Lazio were both placed in Pot 1 for the draw at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
The Giallorossi host Eintracht Frankfurt, SC Braga, Dynamo Kyiv and Athletic Club Bilbao, while visiting Tottenham, AZ Alkmaar, Union Saint-Gilloise and Elfsborg.
Lazio welcome FC Porto, Real Sociedad, Ludogorets and OGC Nice, and visit Francesco Farioli’s Ajax, SC Braga, Dynamo Kyiv on neutral turf and FC Twente.
The matches will be played on September 25-26, October 3, October 24, November 7, November 28, December 12, January 23 and January 30.
However, the precise dates of these ties will not be confirmed until the weekend, just like the Champions League.
Atalanta won the Europa League trophy in 2024, but have qualified for the Champions League.
