The player is reportedly seeking a significant salary increase, asking for €8 million per season – double his current €4 million annual wage. This would make him the highest-paid player in the Milan squad, surpassing even Rafael Leao.
However, Milan’s wage structure and financial constraints make meeting these demands challenging. The club is reportedly willing to offer around €6-7 million per season, including bonuses, which is in line with what they pay their top earners.
The situation is further complicated by interest from other top European clubs. Real Madrid, where Hernandez began his professional career, Paris Saint-Germain, where his brother Lucas plays, and Bayern Munich have all been linked with the talented full-back. Bayern, in particular, may be in the market for a left-back next summer if Alphonso Davies departs.
Adding to the uncertainty is a recent incident during a match against Lazio, where Hernandez and Leao were criticized for not joining the team huddle during a cooling break.
