REPORT: Time to recover….the situation

Former AC Milan striker Bobo Vieri has commented on his former club’s start to the season, and although some already are anxious about how the season could end, the pundit is holding out hope.

For a club like Milan, coming away from the first three games with nine points is the expectation. Sometimes, clubs cannot hold up to expectations, and often, it can be forgiven, but starting a season with two points is unforgettable.

The Rossoneri are yet to win a game in Serie A, and they are deserving of this fact. In each of the opening games, they have looked a standard below their opponents for the most part, and then they have buckled when it has mattered.

Questions are being asked about key players and Paulo Fonseca is already facing questions about his future in a less-than-ideal situation. However, Vieri believes that there is time to turn things around after getting a ‘bit behind’, as he put it in his Quotidiano Sportivo column. His words have been relayed by Radio Rossonera.

“The first matches are difficult because you have little time to train, especially after the summers with the big tournaments. It’s also not easy to play with so much heat.”

“Inter and Juventus have done well, Milan are still a bit behind. Napoli itself started badly and then made two victories. I foresee an entertaining championship until the end. On the third day, they all have time to recover…”

“A club like Juventus wants to win, not just participate. It wants to make the Champions League, maybe not win it but still be there to fight. The same applies to Inter or Milan. They have to assert their qualities.”
