Just In: Milan ultras protest ’embarrassing’… see more

Milan ultras have released a statement calling a protest before tomorrow’s Serie A match against Venezia, slamming the ‘embarrassing’ performances.

The Rossoneri have started their season with just two points from three rounds, a pair of 2-2 comeback draws around the defeat away to newly-promoted Parma.

Although San Siro is sold out for the game against Venezia, the fans are far from enthusiastic and are ready to make their voices heard.

The Curva Sud Milano ultras group released a statement via their social media channels with a warning included.

“The start of the season for our Milan has been to say the least disappointing, to the point where it feels like we’re living through the end of the campaign that just finished.

“These are not our ambitions, so nothing and nobody can be justified for the embarrassing display seen in the first three games.

“There are no more excuses for anyone, from now on everyone has to take their share of the responsibility, leaving nobody out!

“We invite the Rossoneri population to meet up at 18.45 outside the entrance ramp of the bus, to make sure the club, coach and players understand that September already represents a decisive crossroads for our season!

“With Milan always in our hearts!”

Milan already feeling the heat

The next few fixtures are going to be extremely difficult, as Milan face Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday, then go head-to-head with Inter in Serie A next Sunday.

The month rounds off by hosting Lecce on September 27.

There are reports that President Gerry Cardinale might be in the stands of the Stadio Meazza for the match against Venezia, but not his advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swede was criticised for taking vacation time during a crisis on the field for the Diavolo.
