Barbara Berlusconi, daughter of former AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi and ex-CEO of the club, has spoken out about the ongoing saga surrounding the future of San Siro stadium in Milan. Berlusconi expressed her frustration with the situation, stating, “The stadium affair is humiliating for a city like Milan, which is a symbol of modernity and innovation and has always been ahead of its time. It’s a true Italian comedy, deliberately designed to decide nothing.”
She criticized the time wasted on exploring unfeasible options, saying, “Months have been lost to confirm the obvious: that San Siro is effectively not renovatable, because the potential costs are unsustainable and far from the figure that was presented.”
Berlusconi pointed out that the current situation has brought the discussion back to where it started years ago. “We’ve returned to the 2019 proposal. It’s disheartening to note that, like in the game of snakes and ladders, we always return to the starting point,” she remarked.
