The Liverpool player in question is Mohamed Salah, who was a constant thorn in Milan’s side and hit the woodwork twice.

Despite being unfortunate not to get a goal or assist, the Reds forward was a huge threat throughout, and Fonseca admitted his side struggled to cope with him.

“We still make too many mistakes,” Fonseca said in quotes reported by  Redmen TV on YouTube.

“In the one-against-one, in the individual game, and in other phases, we have had a very bad time.

“Especially trying to tackle Salah, trying to limit his movements. Salah and other players are the most difficult players to (stop).”

What ratings was Salah given for efforts in Liverpool’s against Milan?

The Liverpool Echo gave Salah 7 out of 10 for his efforts on the night.

‘Unlucky to see not one but two efforts hit the bar and bounce to safety,’ they wrote.

‘Was always a threat out on that right-hand side and grew into the game. Caused so many problems for Milan first period in particular.’

Meanwhile, Liverpool World gave Salah a 6 out of 10 rating against Milan.

‘Having hit the bar twice in the first half, he was unlucky not to add to his season’s tally,’ they wrote.

When do Liverpool play next?

Liverpool are next in action on Saturday. They host Bournemouth in the Premier League in a 3pm kick-off.
