Juventus coach Thiago Motta reveals he texted his former Italy teammate Daniele De Rossi after Roma sacked him earlier this week.
Roma suddenly sacked De Rossi on Wednesday morning, hiring former Torino coach Ivan Juric instead.
It’s been reported that the club’s decision shocked Roma players, and Motta did not deny that he was also surprised.
“Yes, it really surprised me. I texted him, but of course, it will remain private,” Motta said at a press conference on Friday.
Tomorrow, Motta’s Juventus face Napoli at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.
Motta and De Rossi played for Italy together and reached the 2016 Euro quarter-finals with Antonio Conte in charge of the Azzurri.
