After spending a season on loan at Inter Milan, Lukaku wants to leave Chelsea permanently this summer. However, he is having trouble finding a new team.
His initial choice was to stay at Inter, but the Champions League champions from the previous year were hesitant to agree to Chelsea’s £40 million asking price.
In response, Juventus, a fellow Italian team, started negotiations to recruit the striker for Belgium.
Following a protest by Juventus fans against the team’s efforts to sign Lukaku, the 30-year-old now seems to be saying that a transfer to Turin is no longer happening.
I don’t believe the transaction will go through. In a video clip that has gone viral on social media, Lukaku was heard stating.
An Inter supporter appears to have questioned Lukaku in the video about a potential transfer to Juventus outside of the Anderlecht training facility.
Lukaku did not travel with Chelsea throughout the preseason, and it doesn’t seem like Mauricio Pochettino has any plans for him.
Since he returned to west London in a significant £97.5 million signing in 2021, his second stay at Stamford Bridge has been somewhat of a fiasco.
The Blues have Lukaku under contract until 2026, but they still want to offload him during the summer transfer window.
