Although a RedBird spokesman has refuted rumors that Gerry Cardinale wants to sell off 22% of his Milan ownership, the Rossoneri owners are still seeking new backers, as per Saturday’s updates.
A representative for Cardinale has since assured Reuters that he is not seeking to sever connections with Milan, despite reports from La Repubblica on Friday suggesting that he was attempting to sell 22% of his ownership in the team. According to Calciomercato.com and La Gazzetta dello Sport, RedBird may still try to find new investors, and certain Milan shares may be traded for less money, but none of these developments should have an effect on the club’s day-to-day operations or management.
The owners’ goal of moving Milan back to the top of the league and Champions League standings is still unchanged. The current campaign’s basic goal, according to Calciomercato.com, is to qualify for the Champions League 2025–2026. Away from the field, the club owners’ top objective is to resolve the existing stadium situation, deciding whether to advocate for the construction of a brand-new stadium or to reach an agreement for the significant renovation of their current San Siro location.
