Sky News: Conflict Between Inter President & AC Milan…see more

There’s a raging war going on between AC Milan bigwig Gerry Cardinale and Inter president Beppe Marotta.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Cardinale’s ‘inappropriate’ remarks have sparked widespread frustration within the Nerazzurri camp.

Cardinale recently aimed a dig at Inter, accusing Marotta of running the club into bankruptcy after winning the Scudetto in 2021.

It’s safe to say the RedBird Capital chief’s accusations didn’t sit well with the Inter president.

Indeed, Cardinale’s malicious statement prompted a furious reaction from Marotta.

The seasoned veteran reminded his Milan counterpart of Inter’s vast success in recent years.

More importantly, Marotta’s response was spot on.

Marotta deemed Cardinale’s speech ‘so’ hailing Oaktree for bringing sustainability to Giuseppe Meazza.

Indeed, the American owners have turned Inter’s financial situation around since taking over from Steven Zhang.

However, it’s worth noting that the club’s economic surge began at the tail-end of Zhang’s presidency.

Despite failing to repay his debt to Oaktree, the Chinese businessman had always acted in Inter’s best interest.

He laid the groundwork for a new trophy-laden era at Meazza.

Now that the 20-time Serie A champions are back at the top, they’ve become the cause of a lot of envy.
