Gsb: Theo and Pulisic benched against Roma for different reasons…see more

Even yesterday, Christian Pulisic continued his personalised training sessions, so at best, he might make the bench tomorrow evening against Roma.

Everything will depend on today’s training session: if he works with the group, he could be called up by Paulo Fonseca; otherwise, he will return in a few days for the Supercoppa Italiana semifinal against Juventus on January 3, 2025. Meanwhile, Álvaro Morata, who missed the trip to Verona due to tonsillitis, will return to the starting lineup, although it’s still uncertain in which role he’ll be deployed.

Theo Hernandez to be benched again?

This morning, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Fonseca tested him alongside Tammy Abraham yesterday, but a final decision will be made today. Another dilemma for the Portuguese coach is Theo Hernandez, who could end up on the bench for the third consecutive time after Genoa and Hellas Verona. Today’s final training session could still change things, but yesterday at Milanello, Filippo Terracciano was tested as the left-back. It’s true that despite being given a day off by Fonseca, Theo’s participation in the pre-match session sent a signal to his coach and the entire Milan squad. However, his performance in Verona was quite poor and left Fonseca far from satisfied.

A third straight start for Alex Jimenez
in AC Milan’s first team:

If Morata plays as the central striker, Mattia Liberali could have another chance to start as the attacking midfielder.

For tomorrow evening’s match against Roma, the Milan coach will also have to do without Rafael Leao (in addition to Okafor, Loftus-Cheek, Musah, and Florenzi).

In Leao’s place, Alex Jimenez will be pushed forward as the left-winger, ready to make his third consecutive start for the Rossoneri’s first team, as relayed via Milannews.it.
