JUST IN: Milan Champions League list…see more

Milan will only be able to include three of their January signings in their updated UEFA list, meaning two new players won’t be taking part in the Champions League knockout rounds.

The Rossoneri will take on Feyenoord in their two-legged knockout phase play-off, and Santiago Gimenez is sure of facing his former club in mid-February after completing a move from the Eredivisie giants on the deadline day.

All teams featuring in European competitions must present an updated list including the eligible players for the second part of the campaign by February 6 at midnight.

The Diavolo have had some busy final days in the January transfer market, as they brought in Gimenez, Joao Felix, Warren Bondo and Riccardo Sottil in the closing hours of the winter window, adding to the earlier official announcement of Kyle Walker.

Simultaneously, Milan sold Alvaro Morata, Davide Calabria, Ismael Bennacer and Noah Okafor – while they were all included in the list the club presented at the beginning of the season, the Rossoneri won’t be able to replace all of them as UEFA rules only allow to register three new players for the remaining fixtures.

According to Calciomercato.com, there is little doubt as to which new signings the club wants to include, as Gimenez, Walker and Joao Felix are considered the most prominent reinforcements and will feature in the new UEFA list, meaning coach Sergio Conceição will be able to rely on Bondo and Sottil only for Serie A games.

Both Gimenez and Walker made Champions League appearances for Feyenoord and Manchester City, respectively, between September and January.
