Chelsea have a week to wrap up any final business in the summer transfer window before the new Premier League campaign kicks-off against Liverpool.
While Mauricio Pochettino has welcomed the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson and Axel Disasi to Stamford Bridge, the Blues are still sorely in need for a world-class defensive midfielder. Moises Caicedo continues to be heavily linked with a move to west London, but Brighton are insistent that secure a £100million windfall for his signature.
Chelsea did manage to sign Lesley Ugochukwu from Rennes, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll be sent out on loan before the end of August. In other news, the Blues look set to sign Robert Sanchez from Brighton meanwhile there’s scepticism regarding a potential deal for Dusan Vlahovic, who could replace Romelu Lukaku at Cobham.
