Milan Primavera 0-1 Sassuolo: 87th minute goal ended unbeaten run…see more

Milan Primavera’s unbeaten run was ended by Sassuolo on Saturday afternoon as they were beaten 1-0 in a play-off zone six-pointer.

As a reminder, Milan will have been full of confidence coming into the game after beating Juventus 3-0 away from home last weekend, hoping to continue a positive streak too.

Unfortunately though they were unable to build on the run, with Daldum scoring the only goal for Sassuolo in 87th minute as he fired in Minta’s low cross to decide the game.

With the win, the Neroverdi rise to 49 points in the standings and return to being six points above Milan who are in fifth. Federico Guidi’s team probably didn’t deserve to lose in truth, but that counts for little.

Milan started well and immediately threatened in the 29th minute with a shot from Mattia Liberali that was deflected for a corner by Scacchetti. The away side hit the post in the 33rd minute with an effort from outside by Knezovic that Alessandro Longoni parried onto the bar.

At the start of the second half Sala shot just wide, but then in the last 20 minutes the Neroverdi took control of the game, coming close through Knezovic on two occasions and then striking with Daldum in the 87th minute.

Fiorentina could go 10 points clear of Milan with a win in their game, while city rivals Inter remain six points away in third.
