Sky Sport Italia journalist Fabio Caressa says Milan are unhappy Sergio Conceiçao returned to Portugal on Sunday to attend the funeral of legendary Porto President Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa today.

Conceiçao returned to Portugal on Sunday as he will attend the funeral of ex-Porto President Pinto da Costa today.

Milan will host Feyenoord in the second leg of the Champions League knockout playoff tomorrow, and Conceiçao has rescheduled the team’s training session and his pre-match press conference from Monday morning to the afternoon.

“As far as we know, the club hasn’t taken it exactly too well,” Caressa said.

However, Sky pundits Luca Marchegiani, Beppe Bergomi and Paolo Di Canio defended Conceiçao, saying that he was entitled to go to Portugal to bid farewell to an important person in his life.

“If he goes to a funeral, he must be respected,” said Marchegiani.

Bergomi added: “Milan already met the same opponents five days ago. There’s a prepared staff. I think he must be respected.”

The Rossoneri suffered a 1-0 loss in the Netherlands last week.

Popular Sky Sport Italia journalist Fabio Caressa said on Sunday that Milan directors were unhappy Conceiçao left the team before such an important game.
