Gbs: Milan facing second consecutive summer rebuild…see more

Redemption will be the big word of the next few months for AC Milan, and if people fail to do so, they will no longer have a place at the club.

In Milan’s situation, there are often two ways of going about things; clubs either persist in the hope that things will eventually come good, or they look to start afresh. So, for the second time (if not the third) in 12 months, the Rossoneri could rebuild.

During the summer, we saw a slight overhaul, and this meant that the head coach was changed, whilst a few new players were introduced. This summer, we could see a much larger scale restart, and this opens several questions.

Tuttosport (via Milan News) this morning writes that ‘everyone’ is at risk heading into the summer, and that starts with the management before trickling down to the players.

At present, the club are looking for different sporting directors, to assess which direction they would like to take moving forward and this decision could also play into a rebuild – at present Andrea Berta and Fabio Paratici are the most commonly linked names.

Conceicao is at risk, as is already known, but he could be kept by the club based on good performances. Finally, many players are at risk: Emerson Royal, Fikayo Tomori, Samuel Chukwueze, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luka Jovic and ‘above all’ Theo Hernandez, are almost definitely heading towards an exit.

Tammy Abraham, Joao Felix, Riccardo Sottil and Filippo Terracciano are also at risk, but they will have a few months to secure themselves.
