Sport news: Walker and Loftus-Cheek expected to miss two crucial games for Milan

The full AC Milan squad will resume normal training today, preparing for what will be a crucial week given the games to come.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanPress) reports this morning, it will also provide a chance to take stock of how Kyle Walker and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are recovering, both of whom were sidelined in Saturday’s match against Torino.

The current feeling is that the two english men will not be available for Thursday’s away match against Bologna at the Stadio Renato dall’Ara. Moreover, it is unlikely that they will be able to recover for Sunday’s match against Lazio too.

For Loftus-Cheek there was some hope of making it back this month but again he is not ready. The midfielder suffered two injuries in two months: the first on 11 December (2-1 against Red Star) in the Champions League, then the relapse in the Supercoppa Italiana final against Inter.

Walker meanwhile played through some discomfort towards the end of the Champions League exit to Feyenoord, because there were no substitutions left to replace him. This seems to have worsened a muscle issue that now threatens to keep him out until the end of the month, after initial hope it was fatigue.Μ
