Chelsea could seal one major incoming ahead of their Premier League opener against Liverpool on Sunday.
The Blues have opened talks with Leeds to try and reach an agreement for Tyler Adams who has a £20million relegation clause in his contract. Despite this deal advancing, Chelsea are still locked in negotiations with Brighton for Moises Caicedo and a fourth bid is now on the way after the 21-year-old made a huge decision.
Michael Olise is another target for Mauricio Pochettino with Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson delivering a fresh update on his future amid rivalled interest from Manchester City. Elsewhere, Kylian Mbappe continues to dominate transfer headlines with a new club preparing to make an offer to Paris Saint-Germain.
Neymar verdict
Chelsea’s hopes of signing Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil star Neymar look set to fall on deaf ears given Mauricio Pochettino’s stance on the transfer.
A return to Barcelona has emerged as a favourable location for Neymar, but Chelsea have once again been linked with him. RMC Sport have reported that Pochettino’s side have remained in contact with his representatives, with the deal fitting into Todd Boehly’s dream of bringing star players to Stamford Bridge.
However, any chance of seeing the Brazilian in west London are in serious doubt. According to the Evening Standard, Pochettino is ‘not keen’ on reuniting with Neymar and would put a stop to any potential deal..
Olise update
Roy Hodgson has conceded that Michael Olise will need to make a decision over his future if he’s tempted by an exit from Crystal Palace. The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to further bolster his options on the wing.
When asked if Olise will stay put this summer, Hodgson told Sky Sports: “No one knows at this moment. If there are clubs desperately or seriously preparing a bid and tempting him then he’ll have a decision.
“I can only wait and see what decision is he going to make. He knows we are very keen to keep him. You can never be certain that the players you’ve got, like, want are definitely going to stay – we have a transfer market. I can only hope that market doesn’t on this occasion punish us by persuading one of our very important players to move.”
Caicedo demand
Chelsea have been handed a huge boost to their hopes of signing Moises Caicedo. With the Brighton ace eager to swap the south coast for west London, he has told Brighton that he wants to leave and missed training on Monday in an attempt to force an exit, according to The Times.
The report adds that Mauricio Pochettino wants to add two midfielders to his squad, so the Blues still have plenty of business to conduct in the next three weeks.
