The Los Angeles Lakers coming in on a six-game winning streak will host the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday, March 4. Lakers released their injury updates ahead of the clash highlighting the availability of players for the game.
The Lakers who are currently second in the Western Conference will play the Pelicans first time since November 2024. Moreover, the last time Pelicans managed to beat on their turf was back in February 2022.
JJ Reddick and his men have a stellar record against the Pelicans winning eight of their last 10 games against them. However, The Pelicans (17-44) who are having a tough season will look to maintain their fine form, losing only twice in their past seven games.
Having to adapt to the strategy in the absence of important players, both clubs will be relying on their benches to step up and contribute. While the Pelicans must be on a good run, the Lakers will still be predicted to win the matchup given their home advantage.
Austin Reaves has been marked as questionable to make an appearance against the Pelicans following his right calf injury. This comes as a huge setback for the Lakers who have been pulled out from difficulty many times by Reaves.
The 26-year-old has been an important figure in contributing to the Laker’s recent success. Helping them to a 9-2 record in February, Reaves was averaging 23.5 points, 6.1 assists and 4.5 rebounds before injury.
Without Reaves and Luka Doncic also doubtful to return to fitness, the Lakers will have to switch up things on the personal front.
