Breaking News: Pellegatti reviews Milan’s sporting director…see more

AC Milan are in the market for a sporting director, and it seems there are a few names in the mix. However, Carlo Pellegatti has only looked at two with any real light.

The situation this season demands another reset, if last summer’s situation can actually be deemed a ‘reset’. Looking back on it, the situation seemed more like a reshuffle, with a regular mercato, leaving the squad looking weak in comparison to January, and even other seasons.

Of course, we are now seeing the fruits of this, and unfortunately, there is a lot of pressure now on the relevant heads to get the next calls right.

This starts with a new sporting director, and Giorgio Furlani has been tasked with finding the man to lead the club forward, and it seems that this is the first decision that will occur, with a new head coach to be appointed after the decision has been made, not the other way around.

Today, Carlo Pellegatti has given an update on the situation when speaking to areanapoli.it and the candidates that are in the running.

“It remains one of the most complicated weeks. We understood that Giorgio Furlani went to speak with Cardinale to understand who makes the decisions. I remember that Furlani said that the final signing was up to him but the technical part was up to Moncada and Ibrahimovic.

“Instead we read that now it will always be up to Furlani. This week will start a new round for the new sporting director. Tare and Paratici will be heard from again.

“At the moment there is no third name. I was on the phone, I have news from a few minutes ago. Tare seemed to be the favourite while the candidature of Paratici, who could become Milan’s new sporting director, is on the rise.

“I heard Allegri again today and talked about horses. I asked if there was any news on Milan’s alleged interest. He told me no. At this point I think the sporting director will have to be chosen first.”
