Breaking news: AC Milan Targets Olympiacos Duo Mouzakitis And Kostoulas

The Rossoneri aim to bolster their squad with promising young talents valued at €20 million each.

In a striking move within the world of football, AC Milan has set its sights on two promising young talents from Olympiacos as they prepare for a possible transfer. Reports indicate that Milan scouts were present at the Europa League match between Olympiacos and Bodo/Glimt on March 18, 2025, to evaluate players Christos Mouzakitis and Charalampos Kostoulas, both of whom are generating significant interest from top clubs.

Christos Mouzakitis, an 18-year-old left-footed midfielder born on December 25, 2006, has emerged as a standout player this season, already making 30 appearances for the first team. His skills were on display as he started in important matches against teams like Porto, Braga, and Rangers during the Europa League, showcasing his technical abilities and vision on the field.

Alongside him, 17-year-old Charalampos Kostoulas, born in 2007, has also been turning heads with his energetic and determined style as a center forward. Milan’s scouts have noted his performances against older competition, particularly in the UEFA Youth League, where both players played key roles when Olympiacos defeated the young Milan side to win the title last season.

Olympiacos is currently aiming to build its future strategy around these two talents, valuing them both at approximately €20 million each amid rising interest from prominent clubs, including Premier League sides such as Arsenal and Aston Villa. If AC Milan intends to bring them to San Siro, they will need to make a substantial financial commitment, highlighting the strategic importance of their potential acquisitions.

During the recent Europa League clash, reports noted that Mouzakitis assisted an equalizer in the second leg against Bodo/Glimt, displaying his knack for creating crucial plays even under pressure. Indeed, Olympiacos triumphed 2-1 on the night, yet this victory came too late to overturn the aggregate deficit from the first leg, where they lost 3-0, marking an early exit from the tournament.

Despite not advancing, Olympiacos’s spirited performance, fueled in part by Mouzakitis, who provided significant contributions with his assists, is a positive sign for the club. The match highlighted their attacking prowess, with Olympiacos outpacing Bodo/Glimt in shots (42 to 11) and expected goals (4.18 to 1.91), though they struggled with finishing in the decisive moments.

As a result, captain Panagiotis Retsos emerged as a key figure in the team’s defensive structure throughout the tie, contributing to a solid overall team effort. In an unusual turn, he even finished the match as an emergency goalkeeper after Konstantinos Tzolakis received a red card late in the game, further showcasing his versatility and leadership.

Looking ahead, the challenge for both Olympiacos and AC Milan is significant. For Olympiacos, the focus now turns toward reclaiming the Greek Super League title, while they hope to leverage the momentum gained from Mouzakitis’s performances and the fighting spirit displayed in the last match. For AC Milan, solidifying their scouting efforts will be crucial as they potentially pursue these talents in the summer transfer window. The upcoming strategic decisions by Milan’s sporting director will play a critical role in determining if Mouzakitis and Kostoulas will don the Rossoneri colors in the future.

With discussions about player valuations and ongoing interest from rival clubs heating up, the football world will be watching closely to see how these potential transfer moves develop over the coming months.
