Fabrizio Romano has made it clear that AC Milan have no plans to keep Joao Felix beyond the end of the current season.

Felix arrived on a dry loan deal from Chelsea and after impressing on his debut against Roma – even scoring a goal with a lovely chip – it has been a tale of steady decline for the forward.

When he signed from the Blues there were numerous reports outlining Milan’s intention to try and explore a permanent deal, and yet now it feels certain that his days in red and black are numbered.

Fabrizio Romano has given an update on his X profile: “AC Milan and João Félix won’t continue together beyond this season after loan deal from Chelsea. Feeling from beginning of March again confirmed now, with João expected to return to Chelsea. CFC will assess the situation in the summer to find a potential new club.”

The most recent disappointment came in the big game against title-chasing Napoli on Sunday night when Felix started on the left wing over Rafael Leao, a decision from Sergio Conceicao that has drawn a lot of criticism.

Joao’s agent Jorge Mendes is already believed to be looking to the future has begun to explore the idea of a move to Galatasaray, with both parties being open to the idea currently.
