Beppe Marotta is sceptical about the timing and ‘process’ for a new stadium at San Siro, but Milan’s Mayor Beppe Sala hits back at the Inter President: ‘Bring home the Scudetto.’

Inter and Milan recently submitted an offer to buy the San Siro area, including the Stadio Meazza, and build a new stadium in the coming years.

Milan and Inter’s new stadium has been a hot topic in the country for over a decade, with several plans already abandoned.

Marotta said on Tuesday that he was sceptical about the process and the timing for a new stadium, but Sala hit back on Wednesday.

“What Marotta should do is bring home the Scudetto,” Sala, a renowned Inter fan, said via Calciomercato.com.

“I will speak with Oaktree on this [stadium] matter. I believe that Marotta, like everyone else, is aware of the concerns related to many obstacles, which surely do not come from us.

“We want to ensure that the rules are respected and evaluations are correct. The goal remains to finalise everything by the summer.”
