SAD: Milan the victim of several errors by…see more

Last night, AC Milan drew against Inter in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final, but they were hard done by by the referee, some believe.

There can definitely be gripes with the result last night, with Milan looking rather positive, especially after going a goal up against the Nerazzurri. However, a 67th-minute equaliser means that the two will go into the second leg with it all to play for.

That was not the only frustration for the Rossoneri, though, as some believe that the refereeing performance of Michael Fabbri was ‘inefficient’, as stated by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, via Milan News. In fact, the referee was given a rating of 5.5, due to him making several ‘questionable choices’.

In the 18th minute, Theo Hernandez was carded for a challenge on Yann Bisseck, but six minutes later, after making a similar challenge against Christian Pulisic, Davide Frattesi avoided a booking. Then, Matteo Darmian avoided a card despite making two questionable fouls in four minutes.

Bisseck was shown a card in the 14th minute for a challenge against Leao, which Gazzetta deemed to be excessive. It is worth also pointing a light towards Alessandro Bastoni and Hakan Calhanoglu, both made a few challenges of note without any cautions.
