Gbs: Two reasons why Milan originally overlooked Paratici’s ban…see more

Until this morning, Fabio Paratici seemed to be imminently arriving as AC Milan’s new sporting director, but this is no longer the case, despite no new information coming to light.

When Paratici was banned at Tottenham Hotspur, it was a very publicly available matter, so there was no hiding from the sporting director’s ban, which is due to expire this summer. However, Milan didn’t let this stop their negotiations.

In fact, despite these issues, he was still the primary candidate to take the reins this summer, and the Rossoneri even believed in his credentials so much that they were ready to make a deal official, with suggestions in recent days that only legal hurdles needed to be jumped.

However, this morning, it has been reported that the deal will not be finalised, with the ban causing too much of a problem for the club to overlook, in a summer where action must be taken quickly, which is a real disappointment.

Today, though, Milan News have offered some insight into why the Diavolo were initially prepared to overlook these matters.

Primarily, Paratici had experienced a rebuild at a big club, relaunching Juventus a few years ago after their ‘demolition. Then, there is the fact that he is internationally respected, with scouting missions stretching into the Championship at Tottenham, for example.
