Milan Futuro needed a win to back up their victory over Campobasso last week, and win they did. Oddo’s side beat Sestri Levante by two goals to one away from home. It was a far from simple task, as Montebugnoli gave the hosts the lead after just six minutes, but the Rossoneri reacted brilliantly and completed a 16-minute turnaround. First, Alesi equalised and then, substitute Ianesi bagged a vital winner for Milan Futuro, who need points if they’re to mount a late climb up the table.

Two wins in a row for the first time this season in Serie C and five goals in those two games will give the Rossoneri renewed impetus. Today, Milan Futuro remained calm and clinical despite falling behind. Oddo’s boys stayed in the game, displaying maturity, and got their two goals by capitalising on a poor patch in the game for the hosts. This result takes the Rossoneri above Sestri Levante on 30 points ahead of next weekend’s game against high-flying Ternana.

The first half started on a downhill for the Rossoneri as Sestri Levante took the lead after six minutes: corner taken by Clemenza, Montebugnoli got to it in the box ahead of Malaspina and took the hosts ahead. In the 32nd minute, Milan Futuro had their first real chance as Jimenez put in a cross but Coubis’ run couldn’t finish off the move and the ball hit the post. The Rossoneri grew into the game and tried again in the 38th minute: shot from Alesi who moved from the edge of the box to unleash a shot that was saved by Guadagno. The first half ended 1-0 to the hosts but Milan Futuro’s growth left us hopeful.

The second half rewarded the Rossoneri for their increasing intensity as they went level in the 68th minute: Alesi scored a brilliant goal, going on a run and skipping two men to take aim and fire, bringing Coach Oddo’s men back on level terms. Milan Futuro were looking lively and there was an air of a comeback on about the Stadio Sivori of Sestri Levante. The hosts went down to ten men in the 82nd minute as Cominetti walked and just two minutes later, we completed the comeback: Coubis shot from the edge of the box, Guadagno saved but Ianesi came to supply the tap-in and make it 2-1. In the final moments, there was still time for some more chances with Nunziatini who failed to meet the target whilst in the 97th minute, deep in injury time, Camarda had a chance but shot high.
