The Oklahoma City Thunder have clinched the first seed. Not surprising considering they’ve held a double-digit game lead in the standings for most of the season. But let’s look at the rest of the West playoff picture.
The Thunder will start a mini-baseball series when they play the Los Angeles Lakers in back-to-back games. The first will be on Sunday.
Only one week remains in the 2024-25 regular season. Even though the Thunder aren’t involved, plenty of heated races for seeding have ramped up as the margin for error gets thinner. Thunder Wire will conduct daily updates on the West’s standings until the season ends:
Grizzlies 109, Pistons 103: The Grizzlies utilized a strong fourth quarter to get an impressive win over the Pistons. Desmond Bane had 38 points and Jaren Jackson Jr. had 27 points to make up for Ja Morant’s absence.
Timberwolves 114, Sixers 109: The Timberwolves avoided disaster with a close win over the tanking Sixers. Anthony Edwards had 37 points to lead Minnesota to the necessary win.
Clippers 135, Mavericks 104: It was another blowout win for the Clippers. They beat the Mavericks for a second straight game. Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and Ivica Zubac each scored 25-plus points to beat Dallas.
