Months go by, and the transfer of Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers remains one of the hot topics in the NBA. It is not surprising, considering how surreal it was. For the Dallas Mavericks, it is one of the darkest episodes in their history.
To this day, it is still not understood why the Mavs proceeded with that operation and why no one rejected it. One example is Jason Kidd, whom Doncic had always defended despite his poor management of the team in many instances.
Kidd himself said he knew nothing about the transfer to the Lakers until it happened. However, an NBA insider has recently denied that claim: Tim MacMahon from ESPN.
“The trade was done, and J-Kidd says he didn’t know until the last moment; I will just say that my understanding is that he didn’t exactly throw himself in front of the oncoming train to try to stop it,” MacMahon said.
