Summer exits look inevitable for Mehdi Taremi and Kristjan Asllani after their poor performances for Inter Milan against AC Milan yesterday.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri will put the duo on the market.
Mehdi Taremi and Kristjan Asllani are two players who have struggled for form at Inter Milan this season.
It is not as though neither have had opportunities.
Taremi has had his chances, both in the starting eleven and as a substitute. He has particularly played in the Champions League “league phase.”
Meanwhile, Asllani has played a decent amount, despite not really having the trust of Simone Inzaghi as a real backup to Hakan Calhanoglu.
In Taremi’s case, fitness issues have been part of the reason he has struggled to impact matches and score goals.
Meanwhile, Asllani just has not quite developed into the player Inter hoped he would.
Mehdi Taremi and Kristjan Asllani both got the nod in the Inter starting eleven against AC Milan yesterday.
Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi rotated his team fairly heavily, amid injuries, fatigue, and a brutal fixture list.
Therefore, Inzaghi put his trust in Taremi to lead the line. And in Asllani to deputize for Calhanoglu in midfield.
But Taremi looked blunt in attack, offering very little. Similarly, Asllani wasn’t really able to orchestrate in midfield the way that Calhanoglu does.
And according to the Gazzetta, there will be no more second chances for either Taremi or Asllani.
Inter crashed out of the Coppa Italia, and lost in a derby for the third time this season.
And there were no real excuses for Taremi or Asllani. They do not look capable of ensuring real adequate squad depth for Inter.
Therefore, reports the Gazzetta, Inter are ready to sell both players at the end of the campaign.
