Gbs: Milan would avoid early rounds of coppa Italia…see more

In addition to securing a spot in the 2025-26 edition of the Europa League, winning the final against Bologna would also allow Milan to enter the 2025-25 Coppa Italia in the round of 16.

It goes without saying that the final against Bologna, scheduled for May 14th, is the most important game of the season. Milan need the win to secure European football for next season, currently 9th in the league, and it would give them a lot of momentum as well.

Furthermore, as reported by Calcio e Finanza, winning the competition would allow them to enter the 2025-26 edition in the round of 16. In other words, they would avoid the two preliminary rounds in August and September, which Napoli were forced to play this season.

The top eight teams in the previous season of Serie A are seeded and thus start in the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia, with Milan currently unseeded. The win in the final would change that as the final ‘league spot’ would go to the Rossoneri instead.

Of course, avoiding additional games at the start of the season is crucial as the schedule, especially in the event of European football, is packed enough as it is. Milan simply have to give their all at Stadio Olimpico.
