Report: LeBron James takes a shot at Lakers over Anthony Davis trade

The Los Angeles Lakers’ season came to an early end after a disappointing 103-96 loss at home in Game 5 against the Minnesota Timberwolves

The Lakers had faced heavy criticism for not having a traditional center in their playoff rotation, relying on Dorian Finney-Smith, Rui Hachimura, and LeBron James as their primary frontcourt players.

After the game, Lakers superstar LeBron James was asked about playing centerless basketball following Anthony Davis’ trade to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Doncic. LeBron was hesitant to comment on the situation, subtly referencing how Davis’ departure was handled.

“No comment. AD said what he needed to say, and then he was gone the following week,” LeBron said.

I put the uniform on every night and give everything I have. That’s all that matters,” he added

The Lakers’ only true center in the playoffs, Jaxson Hayes, appeared in just two games against the Timberwolves, playing fewer than 7 minutes per game.

The lack of a solid rim protector in the lineup severely impacted the Lakers’ chances in the series, highlighted by Minnesota’s center Rudy Gobert’s dominant 27-point, 24-rebound performance in Game 5.
