Report: Anthony Edwards details trash talk to Lakers fan that cameras didn’t catch

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in five games during their first-round playoff series, and a big reason why was because of superstar guard Anthony Edwards. Throughout the series, Edwards was seen trash-talking Lakers fans, and he revealed that there was one exchange that the cameras did not catch.

Edwards dominated the Lakers throughout this series, and he wasn’t afraid to fire some harsh words towards his opponent’s fanbase. After Game 1, Edwards was fined $50,000 by the NBA for directing inappropriate language and making an obscene gesture towards a fan before the action got underway.

As it turns out, that wasn’t the only trash-talking Edwards was doing. He recently revealed that there was another instance in which he got into it with a fan during Game 5, telling him they were going to lose even though he was playing poorly.

“That (expletive) said, ‘You’re 0-for-11 from three, stop shooting!’ I said, ‘Y’all finna lose. Go home, beat the traffic (expletive),'” Edwards said in “Year Five with Anthony Edwards.”

While Edwards missed all 11 of his three-point attempts in Game 5, a dominant 27-point, 24-rebound performance from center Rudy Gobert helped Minnesota grind out a 103-96 win to advance to the second round of the playoffs.

Now, the Timberwolves are waiting to see who their next opponent will be, as they will square off against the winner of the Houston Rockets-Golden State Warriors series, which will be decided on Sunday night in Game 7.
