Milan the comeback kings of Italy…see more

In Italy, no one has claimed more points from losing positions than AC Milan, but where do they compare to other European teams in this.

On Monday, Milan once again found themselves in a position of peril. However, Sergio Conceicao’s side managed to find the difference and turned things around quickly – scoring twice in 90 seconds. It is a performance which can certainly be picked apart, but three points are all that matters for now.

In fact, it is now takes the Rossoneri’s record from losing positions to 19 this season, which is the best in Italy – as reported yesterday – and Milan News have looked into the numbers.

Against Torino, Cagliari, Lazio and Fiorentina, the Diavolo have been behind and fought back to pick up a point. Though in the games against Como, Parma, Lecce, Como (again) and Genoa, three points were picked up.

Over the season, this has resulted in 19 points being saved from nothing, a record which is followed by Bologna (18) and Atalanta (16).

Looking wider, Milan sit behind only three teams in the top five divisions for points clawed back. Atletico Madrid sit atop of the comeback king throne with 23 points, whilst Liverpool and Manchester City sit ahead of the Rossoneri with 22 and 20 points, respectively.
