How did LeBron James and Luka Doncic do in the All-NBA…see more

On Friday, the All-NBA teams for the 2024-25 season were announced by the league. There were few, if any, surprises as far as who was voted onto the first team, as guards Donovan Mitchell and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, forwards Jayson Tatum and Giannis Antetokounmpo and center Nikola Jokic made the cut.

Gilgeous-Alexander was named the regular-season MVP earlier this week, and Jokic, who had won the award in three of the previous four seasons, was the runner-up.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James was one of the forwards on the All-NBA Second Team. The other four players voted onto that squad were Evan Mobley of the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson, future Hall of Famer Stephen Curry and rising Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.

The All-NBA Third Team consists of Cade Cunningham, Tyrese Haliburton, James Harden, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Williams. That means that Luka Doncic wasn’t on any of the All-NBA teams for the first time since his rookie season six years ago. He had been on the All-NBA First Team in each of the five previous seasons.

In fact, Doncic didn’t receive a single vote for any of the All-NBA teams this year.

A global media panel of 100 voters selected the 2024-25 Kia All-NBA Team.

Voters selected five players for the First Team, five players for the Second Team and five players for the Third Team at any position.

Doncic averaged 28.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 7.7 assists while shooting 45% from the field and 36.8% from 3-point range for the season, and after being traded to the Lakers, he put up 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists a game while making 37.9% of his 3-point attempts.

It is surprising and perhaps even stunning that he was snubbed by the voters, but this should no doubt light a fire under him as he prepares for next season.
