Gbs: We made many mistakes’ – Furlani responds to Conte question…see more

AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani might have hinted that not going for Antonio Conte last summer was a mistake on the club’s part.

Furlani answered questions from DAZN just before kick-off in last night’s win over Monza. Naturally he was asked about the future of Tijjani Reijnders and the arrival of Igli Tare, but was also prompted to comment on Conte winning the Scudetto with Napoli.

“Congratulations to them and Conte for winning the title. We made many mistakes, so I wouldn’t focus on just one,” he said. Thus, it can be inferred that he considers not getting the former Juventus and Inter man as one of these errors.

Why is this significant? Well, the rumours of Conte to Milan have been rekindled in recent days. After winning the title with Napoli there is a real chance he says goodbye, and Gianluca Di Marzio stated last night that he is on the Rossoneri’s radar.

Igli Tare has signed as the new sporting director and appointing Sergio Conceicao’s replacement will be one of his first jobs. The Albanian has already publicly admitted that he considers Conte to be one of the two best Italian coaches along with Massimiliano Allegri, who is also being linked.
