MN: Milan cross another three candidates off head coach shortlist…see more

AC Milan are yet to decide on a new head coach. However, the shortlist is certainly getting smaller it seems.

The election process at Milan is very much underway with Igli Tare in the building, though it had arguably begun before this moment. In fact, the Albanian had already begun working through candidates himself before he was given the job.

We know, from reports in recent months, that he values Massimiliano Allegri and Vincenzo Italiano heavily. Timings have meant that both may not be possible anymore, leaving the club to pick from the rest.

It works both ways, though. So the Rossoneri themselves have begun their own vetting process, crossing candidates off the list who are not suitable.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Andrea Ramazzotti, via Milan News, the club have decided against the profiles of Francesco Farioli, who has just left Ajax after failing to win the Eredivisie. Whilst a move for Maurizio Sarri should not occur, due to a ‘difficult relationship’ with Tare.

Then, Roberto De Zerbi will not be considered, with the former Brighton and Hove Albion coach likely to stay at Marseille past this season after being reassured by the French club about the future.

Now, it is over to Tare to elect the chosen one from a limited list.
